I Love a Public Holiday

Today was a public holiday in my part of the world. Magnificent :-)

What did we do I hear you asking? We got up at 06:00 as any family with two kiddies under 3 would do. In various orders we had breakfast, showers and played Spiderman on the bed.

Then it was off to Pimelea Playspace for a bit of fun with the majority of clan McK.

For those who don't know the Pimelea Playspace is a fairly nice and underutilised semi-recreation area in the Western Sydney Regional Park. I like it. There's stuff there for the kids, and if I feel the urge to go for a vigorous bit of biking or cross-country running there's an abundance of that too. It's right next door to where the Mountain Biking was held in the Sydney Olympics.

But today was a day with the kids. LGR traditionally hunts in a pair with his mate Corky - and today was no different. There were boat rides had (it was necessary to put the bikes in the boat so they didn't get wet in the water - water which doesn't exist), walks up big mountains (for little legs), slides, rope climbs, drinks and biccies and more Spiderman games.

Whilst all this was going on Hayzey was rolling about in her own style and paying close attention to McK Jnr. They made eyes at each other, blew some bubbles and then ignored each other as much as possible.

After about 90 minutes it turned cold and the day was cut short for a trip back to the Jones household for some lunch and games. And very pleasant the food and games turned out to be.
